Monochrome photography eliminates the need to use colour. The interpretation through black and white pictures does not contain the power and liveliness of the colours. Nevertheless, the challenge is not to lose expressiveness and intensity. A wide range of possibilities frees black-and-white photography from this limitation. Last but not least, the different stylistic means play an important role. They have the ability to reproduce the most diverse moods. The characteristics to be classic, traditional, descreet and serious determine the monochrome photography. It expresses strong feelings between joi and grief. A certain finesse is given here with the combination of gray values, which are between the extremes black and white.
Deliberatly set contrasts round off the overall picture. In spite of the monochrome representation, the viewer can feel the unbent colorfulness of the captured moments.
